Where used to be the old kitchen garden, a new formal garden has been completed in 2003 (probably as it was in the past). Water has been put in an existing Volvic stone pond.

The South-East tower was restored at the beginning
of 2003 with the help of the DRAC. The roof frame and
tiles have entirely been redone.

The restoration of the tower of the Music Room (S-W),
was achieved in June 2003. Once again the whole roofing was replaced.

Finally the North-West tower will be entirely restored in 2005: walls,
roof frame, tiles and gutters will be restored or replaced.

When the ground floor lobby was overhauled, after the shooting of the movie, beautiful 18 th century frescos were discovered on the walls! They cover the entire vaulted ceiling. Two scenes have been restored by a specialist M. Morvan and you can now admire them.

A ride on donkeys might be organised in 2005, for children
and became a reality in 2007.

An orientation table has been put up at Easter 2004.

Interior sequence with one of the actors: Thomas Levert

For the movie, Ravel is set on fire …

From May to September, 2003, the Galatée-Film company shot the movie “Les Choristes” in Ravel.
The leading actors were: Gérard Jugnot, François Berléand, Kad Merad and Jacques Perrin (Le people migrateur, Himalaya, Microcosmos etc.).
Ravel was not open during that period.

The movie was released in April 2004 and had a great success. In a correction house (Ravel), in 1948, the movie relates the story of a supervisor (Gérard Jugnot), unemployed musician, who tries to liven up the existence of the pupils despite the harshness of the school's principal (François Berléand). It's a remake of “La cage aux Rossignols” with Noël Noël.

The atmosphere on the shooting was excellent despite the exceedingly hot weather and over 120 people on the set!
Many thanks to the director Christophe Barratier and the producer Bernard Lorrain
